Senior Phase

Grade 7

The Grade 7 class at Simon van der Stel Primary School is a close-knit and supportive learning community, with class sizes kept small to ensure that each learner receives individual attention and guidance. This allows educators to support learners effectively as they take on increased academic responsibility.

As learners enter the Senior Phase, they are introduced to new subjects that broaden both their academic and practical knowledge. Technology develops creativity, problem-solving skills, and an understanding of the design process, enabling learners to apply technological concepts in meaningful ways. Economic and Management Sciences introduces learners to basic principles of economics, management, and entrepreneurship, helping them develop an awareness of how the world of business and industry operates.

Learners are supported by subject specialists who provide focused instruction and expert guidance across the curriculum. This strong academic foundation is essential as learners prepare for high school and beyond.

As the seniors of the school, Grade 7 learners proudly wear a special jacket that symbolises leadership, responsibility, and maturity. They are encouraged to set a positive example for younger learners while developing confidence, independence, and resilience.

The Grade 7 year is a meaningful and rewarding journey, preparing learners academically, socially, and emotionally for a successful transition to high school and a bright future ahead.
